Keeping to promises

Oh HI, it's been a while (I've lost count of how many times my posts contain 'it's been a while') so let's move on from that, shall we? :D Skip the unimportant stuff I say!

Remember how I promised a few posts back that I'd post up pictures of some of my online purchases? Well I received ONE package so far so I'll treat your eyes to some pretty dresses! All pictures from ASOS of course, no way did I morph into a leggy brunette overnight.

How gorgeous is this? Look at the beautiful pleats and the rich navy colour! Absolute <3 It is a nightmare getting this dress on and off though, I feel like there's no easy way but to constantly wiggle for 10 minutes to put it on/ take it off. At least I burn some calories doing that. Why don't they make a size 7? A 6 in this is a teeny bit small for me, but an 8 would be too big. :\

This dress has a whimsical peter pan collar, tutu underlay and scalloped lace hem. Could it get anymore perfect? Yes- the back is awesome too! Highly pixelated pic but you get the idea.

And for work I thought this would be perfect....
Sure it looks short, but since the model is Amazonian and I'm on the other end of the spectrum, fingers crossed it'll be a-OK for work. I haven't received this yet because this was delivery #2 which consisted of 2 packages, and guess what? They delivered only one package, so they'll re-deliver the second package tomorrow. Argh *refer below for story*.

Now let me tell you a story. I only started work in the last week of September and on the FIRST day of work, I got my Louboutin babies delivered. To work. Cos someone had to sign for it and no one would be home during working hours. Which I then showed my manager. To which she later asked, 'How in the world are you going to walk in them?' So first impression I reckon I made was- 'this girl likes to shop'.

And I'm always heading out to the post office to post stuff/ collect packages so I more often than not have a carry bag containing a package. I'm trying to limit the deliveries made by the postie or courier so I re-route them to my residential address and get the boy to fetch them from the post office since it's a 5 min drive and he gets home before they close. But as luck would have it, they upgraded my package to courier/express delivery so someone has to sign for it. So how now brown cow? Only option was to get it delivered to work. And what do they do? Stuff up and deliver one today, and another tomorrow! I have to figure out a way to sneak the package to my desk without anyone noticing *thinks ninja thoughts. It has come to a point where my colleague has called me over to her desk to look at shopping emails and discounts thinking I'd be interested...cos that's all I do, rriiight?

Oh and I also bought a mouse ring because it looked cute!
When I get to work I can introduce him to my computer mouse. 'Mickey, meet Minnie'! HAHA. Now, excuse me while I pick myself up from laughing so much till I accidentally rolled onto the floor.

Absolutely LOVIN' the strength of the AUD right now!

I finally bought a pair of flats I've been coveting since FOREVER! They retail for about AUD 610 in Australia (rip-off!) but in the US it only costs USD 440. Can you guess what they are? Hint: Patent leather, with a pretty trademark bow design on the front!

C'mmon...

You can do better....

Tada!
Salvatore Ferragamo Varina flats in black patent leather.

And you know what the best part was? I got them on SALE! Wheeeee! So happy *jumps up and down. I initially wanted a pair that was nude instead of black, but unless I magically expand my feet to size 9.5 I don't think it's a good idea getting shoes that will look like small boats on my feet. :\

The flats + shipping from the US cost me less than AUD 400. How awesome is that? :D

Now I just can't wait for them to arrive hehehe.

The dress

Girls have many reasons (some silly, some not so) to justify the purchase of a new dress (I have a wedding to attend, I got a new job, I have spare cash laying around, I need to spend money, my closet looks empty, my other dresses need companions otherwise they feel lonely, I haven't bought anything in over a week, I love strawberries etc, etc. The list goes on...and on..), and I willingly admit that on this occasion, I am guilty of this expensive crime. Although I absolutely love EVERYTHING about this dress- from the beautiful flowers on the bust, neck and back to the gorgeous flowy pastel silk, I am contemplating selling it, together with a whole bunch of other dresses that are going up for sale once I'm back in Melbourne.

See what I mean about the gorgeous details? <3 <3 <3 Too bad the lighting is too dark in the last picture, otherwise the flower on the back shows beautifully. I took all these pictures while the boy was getting ready. What is it with the male species these days? They take forever to get ready :p

Finally ready- we're both looking up and looking very spaced out lol so decided to do another take
Ahhh much better!

Singapore was great- I was THIS close to swiping my credit card and buying another Chanel, but really...I'm thinking of selling my other Chanels too. Although a Jumbo Beige Classic Flap with Silver hardware (divine!) would be perfect for everyday use, I have my eye on something else ;)

OOT(Sun)D!

I recently bought a new cardigan and have been wearing it to death- yes, 3 days in a row people! Isn't it pretty? I love that it was cheap but the boy disagrees. He thinks I have no sense of what's cheap and what's not...and I disagree with him on this point!

My favourite pair of awesome flat boots- which are absolutely made for walking. I've been looking for a pair of leather boots all winter and I finally found the perfect pair.

Every girl needs a pair of love heart stockings...

Heading out to Proud Mary for a lovely brunch.

My hair's getting to the point where it's unmanageable. I can't wear it straight anymore because the bottom part of it is soooooo heavy so up it goes into a nest on top of my head.
Nice background...can you feel the vibe just from looking at it? I can just tell it's a lazy, hazy Sunday.

Back to work tomorrow...I'm looking forward to getting this week over and done with so I can go to the Tim Burton exhibition next weekend! Hurry up Saturday!

Outfit post!

I've been meaning to do a post for some time now to push the picture of my big face in the previous post to further down on the blog but I got bitten by the lazy bug somewhere along the way. I don't have any new pictures so I'll use the ones taken from my Sydney trip! In case you were wondering why my pictures are all different colours, it was because I used different cameras.

I actually bought this dress over a year ago (very pretty, it's got tulle underneath so it makes the skirt 'poof'' and the beading around the neckline and waist is just gorgeous) so I was a little worried about whether it would fit since I'm now a fatty boombah from all the eating I've been doing! Luckily it fit, phew. It was tight around the middle though, so after the meal I was struggling to breathe- uh oh. I'm thinking of selling this dress...I've sold a few things on eBay and it feels good knowing that all the clothes and shoes and bags I don't use anymore can make me some moolah.

This...

..plus this...

...plus this...plus the dresses...equals...

Me!

I <3 the bow in the middle.

Guilty indulgence

Masterchef made me go out and buy a Golden Gaytime! If you've never had one before- you're missing out SUPERDUPERBIG time! Best ice-cream that you can buy from a convenience store EVER. I used to be really childlish and laugh at the name everytime I got one...seriously, wouldn't you make fun of it too? Thanks MC, that's an extra 15g of fat that I really didn't need to indulge in at 9pm at night. Not gonna tell you what it tastes like because you have to try this one for yourself! :P

My package from the US arrived today! I love getting packages in the mail- it's like giving myself presents every now and then :D I got myself a bottle of OPI's 'Over the Taupe' which is quite similar to this other colour I've been wanting to get (Chanel Particuliere) but forking out AUD40 for a bottle of nail polish? You got to be kidding me. I know it's a terrible picture, it was either I get it to focus and take an ugly picture out of frame....or get a perfectly framed picture but without the focus. Guess what I went with?
Feeling terribly sleepy and tired today even though I've been going to bed before 12am every night. I always automatically wake up at 5.30am or 6.30am when my alarm is 7am. Grr, so angry! Since I'm here I might do another blogpost before I feel lazy. Stay tuned!

Golden Dragon Palace, Lower Templestowe

Instead of having yum cha at the usual places- Sharkfin House and Crystal Jade in Chinatown, Tai Pan in Doncaster East and Plume in Doncaster (these are the good restaurants with good yum cha), the boy suggested we try Golden Dragon Palace in Lower Templestowe. Being the greedy pigs we are, we agreed quicker than you can say 'Dim Sum!' This restaurant has had its share of good and bad reviews, but we soon discovered that the food was actually not too bad and was comparable to the other restaurants mentioned above which were famous for their yum cha. However, Golden Dragon Palace has a reputation for being pricier than the other restaurants.....but their service was great. We were seated in a corner where the carts couldn't reach us, but we weren't ignored nor did we have to spend ages waiting for food or for our teapot to be refilled.

Us, making use of the mirror in the lift.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and there's ample space between tables (compared to the other restaurants where you feel squished between the table next to you and the back of someone's chair). See the stack of dishes in the pic below? Yeah, that's a grand piano they've used as a table -_-

We had 14 dishes between the 4 of us (is that A LOT??!?!?)
Cutting into the medicinal-tasting ball...please do not order the pink ball!

Yum, this was really good and I don't usually eat this.

Snowball mochi with ice-cream filling, which my sister took one look at, and ordered straightaway cos it looked cute.....
.....only to spend forever picking out the desiccated coconut on the outside cos she hates coconut HAHAHAH
it was yummy though :)~

Took advantage of the fact that it wasn't too cold that day, and wore things from my wardrobe that hadn't seen the light of day for a few months....or in the case of the shoes (a few years!).

Pretty love heart sheer stockings from Asos
These shoes have only been worn once......2-3 years ago!
Paid bargain price for a pretty cardigan from Valleygirl. I love that store- you have to wade through heaps of ugly clothes, but then here and there you'll find some pieces that actually look great and are quite decent.

Okbye! See you all in a couple of days!
